Siya is a five-year-old black English Cocker Spaniel. He is fully vaccinated, chemically castrated, and has been socialised around other dogs since he was a puppy.

He is not just my dog. He is the constant. When your dog comes for a walk, a day, or a weekend, they join Siya’s world. His calm, sociable nature sets the tone for everything.

He has explored Amsterdam’s parks, canal paths and green spaces in every season and all weather. He is equally at home in the snow or the summer sun.

The person behind the lead

I am Chris, a work-from-home executive based in Diemen. Cypriot by background, South African by upbringing, and Dutch by choice for the past ten years. I have spent my career working across Africa and Europe, and somewhere along the way Diemen became home.

I walk Siya twice a day, every day, covering around 8km through Diemen’s parks, canal paths and green spaces. A while back I decided to open that routine to a small number of people who needed someone reliable nearby.

I understand what it is like to leave for work not knowing if your dog is properly looked after. I have the time, the space, and a genuinely well-socialised dog. For a small group of like-minded people, I am happy to help.

Every client signs a written agreement before we start. No surprises.
I hold no formal dog handling certificate and carry no professional insurance. I am upfront about both. All reasonable care is taken at all times. Medical costs remain the owner’s responsibility.

Service conditions

These apply to every booking. Please read before getting in touch.

Three client dogs maximum, excluding Siya. Always. No exceptions.

All dogs must be fully vaccinated. Proof of kennel cough vaccination required.

All new clients complete a meet-and-greet walk before any booking is confirmed.

Payment in advance. No slot is held without payment.

Pickup waits 15 minutes. Late dogs miss the walk. No refund applies.

I do not feed client dogs. Fresh water always available on walks and at home.

24 hours notice for cancellations. 48 hours for overnight stays.

Walks and daycare on weekdays only. Overnights on weekends with prior notice.

Ad hoc bookings by appointment. I reserve the right to decline without explanation.

Regular and subscription clients take priority over ad hoc at all times.

For overnights, please provide your dog's own food and feeding instructions.

Daycare and overnight stays subject to a successful meet-and-greet first.

Terms, Conditions & Disclaimer

This is a personal service. Please read carefully before making a booking.

Siya & Me is a personal dog walking and care service provided by Chris Savides as a private individual operating from Diemen, Netherlands. It is not a registered company, professional kennels, or veterinary service.

All services are provided personally by Chris Savides. No third parties, employees, or agents are involved in the care of client dogs.

Although this website is hosted on a subdomain of ukuva.com, it is entirely separate from Ukuva Consulting B.V. and its commercial activities. No VAT invoice will be issued. By booking you are entering into a personal arrangement with Chris Savides in his private capacity only.

This service operates within the scope of the Dutch Besluit houders van dieren. The 20-dog annual threshold that triggers commercial animal care licensing does not apply at this scale of maximum three client dogs at any one time.

Submitting an enquiry via this website, WhatsApp, or email does not constitute a booking or service confirmation of any kind. All enquiries are subject to availability and to a successful meet-and-greet walk.

A service is only confirmed when all three of the following conditions are met:

  • The meet-and-greet has been completed to Chris Savides’s satisfaction.
  • A written service agreement has been signed by both parties.
  • Payment in full has been received for the agreed service period.

No service will commence until all three conditions are met. Chris Savides reserves the right to decline any enquiry or booking at any stage without providing a reason.

  • All services must be paid for in advance. No slot, walk, or daycare day is held without payment.
  • Weekly daycare is paid at the start of each week. Monthly walk subscriptions at the start of each calendar month.
  • Ad hoc bookings are paid at the time of booking confirmation.
  • Payment by bank transfer (IBAN provided on request) or agreed alternative.
  • All new clients must complete a meet-and-greet walk before any booking is accepted or payment requested.
  • I reserve the right to decline any booking at my discretion without providing a reason.
  • This service operates below the Dutch KOR (Kleine Ondernemersregeling) VAT threshold. No VAT is charged and no VAT invoice will be issued. Payment confirmation is available on request but does not constitute a commercial invoice from Ukuva Consulting B.V. or any other registered entity.
  • Walk and daycare cancellations require a minimum of 24 hours notice. Late cancellations are charged in full.
  • Overnight stay cancellations require a minimum of 48 hours notice. Cancellations within 48 hours are charged in full.
  • If a dog is not at the agreed pickup point within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, the walk proceeds without them. No refund applies.
  • If I am unable to provide a service, I will give at least 24 hours notice wherever possible.
  • All client dogs must be fully vaccinated. Proof of kennel cough vaccination is required before the first walk.
  • I reserve the right to request full vaccination records at any time.
  • Dogs showing signs of illness or contagious conditions will not be accepted. No refund is required where a dog is declined on health grounds.
  • Owners must disclose any known health conditions, allergies, or behavioural issues prior to the meet-and-greet.
  • I do not feed client dogs during walks or daycare. Fresh water is always available.
  • For overnight stays, owners must provide their dog’s own food and clear feeding instructions.
  • I do not administer medication of any kind without prior written agreement. I reserve the right to decline bookings where medication is required.

In the event of a medical emergency I will contact the owner immediately and ensure the dog receives veterinary attention using the emergency contact and vet details provided at booking.

All veterinary costs are the sole responsibility of the owner and must be settled directly between the owner and the veterinarian.

I am not a veterinarian and hold no animal medical qualifications.

While all reasonable care will be taken at all times, I do not accept liability for:

  • Injury, illness, loss, or death of a client dog during any walk, daycare session, or overnight stay.
  • Damage caused by a client dog to property or third parties.
  • Injury or illness arising from interaction between dogs.
  • Loss or damage to any items or accessories belonging to the owner or their dog.

This service carries no professional liability or animal care insurance of any kind. The client accepts this and acknowledges they have been clearly advised of this fact prior to booking.

Under Article 6:179 of the Dutch Civil Code (Burgerlijk Wetboek), the owner of an animal is strictly liable for damage caused by that animal to third parties. This liability remains with the owner at all times, including during walks, daycare sessions, and overnight stays. Chris Savides accepts no liability for damage, injury, or loss caused by a client’s dog to any third party including other animals, persons, or property.

This exclusion of liability does not apply in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct on the part of Chris Savides, as Dutch law does not permit the exclusion of liability in such cases. This does not affect statutory rights under Dutch consumer law.

  • The owner confirms their dog is in good health, fully vaccinated, and suitable for group interaction.
  • The owner must disclose any known behavioural issues or history of aggression before the meet-and-greet.
  • The owner must provide current emergency contact details and their veterinarian’s contact details.
  • The owner accepts their dog will walk alongside Siya and potentially other client dogs.
  • The owner confirms their dog is microchipped and registered in a recognised Dutch animal database such as Petbase or LICG, in accordance with the Besluit identificatie en registratie van dieren.
  • Subscription and regular daycare clients take priority over ad hoc bookings at all times.
  • Ad hoc bookings are by appointment only and subject to availability.
  • Maximum three client dogs at any one time. This limit will not be exceeded.
  • Walks and daycare operate on weekdays only. Overnight stays on weekends with prior notice.
  • Siya accompanies every walk and daycare session. In the rare event that Siya is unwell or unavailable, affected clients will be notified as soon as possible and offered a reschedule or full refund at their choice.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Dutch courts. Nothing in these terms affects the statutory rights of the client under Dutch consumer law.

These terms may be updated from time to time. The version published on this website at the time of booking applies.

These terms constitute a personal agreement between the client and Chris Savides as a private individual. They do not constitute a commercial contract with Ukuva Consulting B.V. or any other legal entity. Ukuva Consulting B.V. accepts no liability whatsoever in connection with this service.

Personal data submitted via this website, including name, email address, and information about your dog, is collected and used solely for the purpose of responding to enquiries and managing bookings.

  • Data is not shared with third parties and is not used for marketing purposes.
  • Data is not transferred outside the European Economic Area.
  • You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing chris@ukuva.com.
  • Data is retained only for as long as necessary to manage the booking relationship.
  • This website does not use tracking cookies or analytics tools that collect personal data.

Data is processed in accordance with the Dutch Uitvoeringswet AVG implementing the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The data controller is Chris Savides, Diemen, Netherlands.

Disclaimer

This is a personal service provided by Chris Savides as a private individual operating from Diemen, Netherlands. It is not a service of Ukuva Consulting B.V. and is not connected to that entity in any way beyond the use of a subdomain. No VAT invoice will be issued. No commercial invoice from Ukuva Consulting B.V. will be provided.

This service carries no professional liability or animal care insurance of any kind. While all reasonable care will be taken of your dog at all times, Chris Savides does not accept liability for injury, illness, loss, or damage arising during any walk, daycare session, or overnight stay, except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

Under Article 6:179 of the Dutch Civil Code, the owner of an animal is strictly liable for damage caused by that animal to third parties. This liability remains with the owner throughout any service.

Chris Savides is not a veterinarian and holds no animal medical qualifications. In the event of a medical emergency the owner will be contacted immediately and the dog will be taken to veterinary care. All veterinary costs are the sole responsibility of the owner.

By making a booking, the client confirms they have read, understood, and accepted all terms, conditions, and disclaimers on this page, and that they are entering into a personal arrangement with Chris Savides as a private individual.
